It's Complicated: A Compilation
Good Music, Better Cause
It’s Complicated, A Compilation: the best local music for the best cause. Anything Bagel Records, in collaboration with Rumble Gut Record, released a compilation of Montana Music’s greatest hits on Friday. All the money earned through the album goes directly to the Montana BIPOC Mutual Aid Fund, a fund created for and by BIPOC to redistribute funds to community members, recognizing and supporting their agency.
This form of fostering representation and community driven art is especially important in the music scene, where marginalized groups can be underrepresented. Anything Bagel and Rumble Gut Records are both small record labels in Montana, founded by multiple local artists in both Missoula and Bozeman respectively. Both the labels are grassroots, musician made and musician focused, uplifting the Montana music scene.
The album features 28 different Montana artists with 28 original songs. It includes new tracks from Fuuls and Tormi, new bands like Apocalypse Friend and Cry Baby, and some favorites from Boy Feud, Panther Car and Wrinkles. Genres from folk to indie pop, to pop punk and techno are represented. It is a huge sample of what diverse sounds Montana has to offer. The album is worth the listen and the cause is worth the support. It’s available for purchase on BandCamp right now!
